Nasrudin and Friend Prepare a Meal
Nasrudin and a friend bought some ingredients to make a meal of meat, rice, and vegetables.
"You make the rice, and I'll cook the vegetables," said the friend.
"Actually," replied the Mulla, "I have no clue how to make rice."
"Fine. Slice the vegetables, and I'll make the rice."
"Well. To be honest, I really don't know how to slice vegetables the right way. I'll just end up making a mess."
"Then go prepare the meat for the stove."
"I wish I could. But I have an extreme aversion to raw meat. I throw up at the mere sight of it."
"Then go light the stove."
"I would like to. But I can't. You see, the thing is, I'm very afraid of fire."
Tired of hearing all of Nasrudin's excuses, the friend made the meal all by himself. When it was ready, he put the food on the table and said to Nasrudin, "Well. I suppose that you are also unable to eat meat, vegetables, and stew. Right?
"Indeed I am," was the reply. "But since you went to so much trouble to make this meal, I know how rude it it would be for me to refuse it. I'll do my best to eat three or four plates of this stuff."
